Jesse’s Perfect Power Parfait
Hello all you Beasties, here is Jesse’s Perfect Power Parfait! This is a healthy desert or after school snack that I like to make when I’m feeling adventurous. I might want to put together a parfait instead of a smoothie especially when the weather is cold outside. A parfait is a layered desert that is usually in a glass of some type, because you want to see those yummy layers. It looks really cool too! I usually like to use fruits, granola, nuts, berries and yogurt. You can come up with great ideas on what to put into your smoothie…the options are ENDLESS.
For this recipe I used these ingredients:
- 1 cup Yogurt (any flavor)
- ½ Apple sliced and diced
- 1 medium banana sliced
- Handful of Almonds
- Granola (as much as you like)
- ¼ cup of blueberries (fresh or thawed)
The construction of Jesse’s Perfect Power Parfait is yummy, fun and easy! You choose how you want your layers to look, (that’s the cool part). I started with a little yogurt on the bottom, fruit, nuts, granola then a layer of yogurt and repeated the same thing until my glass was full of yummy layers! With parfaits, you can fool your family into thinking they are eating something you slaved hours on…when it really only takes a few minutes. Most importantly, Jesse’s Perfect Power Parfait is HEALTHY! Packed with healthy fats and protein from the nuts and yogurt and carbohydrates from the fruit and granola…this snack is something your mom would BEG you to make for her!
